We're a father and son who love to talk and argue about baseball! Baseball is the professional sport that has the longest history so there is a lot to talk about! We launched Almost Cooperstown noting that baseball contains a long history of players that, for whatever reasons, have been shunned by the electors of the Hall of Fame. Consequently here are many 'Almost' players still waiting their turn for induction. With less than 1.4% of the now more than 23,000 players in the HOF, we feel there should be more players included. In these podcasts we also discuss current seasons & trends. Please send any messages to almostcooperstown@gmail.com. When the players strike, it's a different story if you remember 1981 and 1994. The current MLB Collective Bargaining Agreement is up in December and there's talk about an owner imposted lockout. Should we be optimistic? Check out the short from this week's podcast.

Matt Olson's consecutive games played streak is nice but it ain't close to Cal Ripken!

We noticed that #Braves 1B Matt Olson jumped into the top eight for consecutive games played when he passed HOFer Stan Musial last week. With over 900 games played in a row, Olson is in rare company but has little chance of reaching HOFer Lou Gehrig and NO chance of catching HOFer Cal Ripken!
