The Mets began 2024 terribly. But then they got hot and made it all the way to the NLCS where they lost to the Dodgers. That made them think they might be only a step or two away from making and winning the World Series. It all came crashing down in 2025. The pitchers started well but never pitched long enough in the game to spare a tiring bullpen. Then it all imploded in an awful finish where they missed the playoffs entirely. But you could see it coming if you were watching the team every day.
