After a 45-29 start the Mets flopped to a 35-53 record the rest of the 2025 season. Big payrolls don't necesarily translate into wins. The Mets spent more than $4M per win for all of their 83 wins. Fans came out to Citi Field like never before - the most…
#Mets fans like we are might be relieved that the nightmare finish to the season is finally over. Sure making the playoffs would have been great, but #Reds deserved it more & getting spanked by #Dodgers would have been up next for the boys from Citi Field. #Phillies look good…
#yankees Aaron Judge was hitting .400 into June this year and on such a torrid pace that all-time records were in danger. He couldn't maintain that pace. Cal Raleigh has led #mariners into first place and has the most home runs ever by a catcher in a single season. Which…
#mets have three rookies in their starting rotation in the heat of a playoff run. #Bluejays have Trey Yesavage making big starts down the stretch. What the heck is going on with untested pitchers being tossed into the heat of a pennant race? Did #Dodgers set this trend last year…
We talked about #phillies Trea Turner being the NL's only .300 hitter although #cubs Nico Hoerner is on the doorstep. How about exactly zero no-hitters thrown in Major League #baseball this year?

Yankees trade deadline acquisition Jose Caballeros leads the AL in stolen bases & is a solid defender. Anthony Volpe has had a rough season defensively and with the bat. Could Volpe be put on the bench in the playoffs? From this week's podcast.
#Pirates have had another pretty miserable season. But with their pitching led by Paul Skenes they have 17 shutouts - most of them combined shutouts. The problem is that if they don't toss a shutout they have a .364 winning %. They also have swept good teams #dodgers #tigers #phillies…

Mark went to the #mets game Friday night to see the return of Jacob DeGrom. It did not go well for the Metropolitans as rookie Jonah Tong didn't make it out of the 1st inning. The Mets are so awful lately that Mark proclaimed them dead as he did the…
September is here and in our podcast this week we talked about fans that didn't pay much attention to #baseball this season but now are more interested since the playoffs are around the corner. Do those fans count? Football has started and the regular season in baseball ends later this…

All-star lefty Framber Valdez didn't exactly deny that he crossed up his young catcher because he didn't want to throw a particular pitch. Cesar Salazar is a young player and really couldn't and didn't say anything in protest to his pitcher. Framber is a volatile player and here he proved…
Our under-the-radar story of the week is asking about why a fan would grab a baseball from a kid at the game? Grabbing a hat away from a kid? What is wrong with #baseball fans? It wasn't enough to have #Yankees fans thrown out of the playoff games last year…
Range factor indicates a fielder's ability to get to the ball compared to other players. But it doesn't include what happens after the fielder gets to the ball. Did that player make the play? What happened after? You don't notice it as much when a fielder does not get to…
Relievers of the past are happy that finally there will be a BBWA award for relievers. There have been NL (Hoffman) and AL (Rivera) awards given but never by the BBWA. Saves are great but they aren't the only criteria for evaluating the best relief pitchers!
In today's podcast we talk about #redsox re-signed lefty closer Aroldis Chapman to another 1 year deal. He has a very good chance to get 400 saves like Kenley Jansen and Craig Kimbrel. Chapman still throws 100 MPH and has a career 14.6 K/9. He's famous and always has been.
